Chillies are fruits of the capsicum pepper plants and are known for their hot flavour. They are rich in many vitamins including A, B6, C and K. They are also known to boost the immune system and can help stimulate secretions to help clear mucus from a stuffed nose or congested lungs. Whole chillies are perfect for making your own pastes and adding spice to sauces. To make your own chilli oil simply add a few chillies to a bottle of olive oil and let it infuse for a couple of weeks. Store dry whole chillies in an airtight container in a cool and dry place.
