by @daisy_scoopwholefoods

These are the best homemade gifts as they take minimum effort and have maximum impact! Everyone loves a candle in their home and you can easily scent them with natural and pure essential oils rather than the synthetic fragrances that are so often found in candles.

Ingredients
  • Soy wax beads, to get your amount double the amount of beads unmelted that fit in your jar
  • Essential oils, use 80 drops for 3 small 200g candles
  • Unwaxed wicks
  • Paper clips or tape, this is hold the wick to the bottom of the jar

Directions

Cover your work area with newspaper. Prepare your candle vessels (you can use Scoop's Glass Jars). Use tape or paper clips to anchor the wick to the bottom of the jar - leave the wick a little longer than necessary until the wax has set. Melt your wax in a pot on the stove on low heat. Stir in your oils using a skewer or paddle pop stick. Pour the wax into your prepared jars keeping wick as central as you can and use a stick or anything you can to hold in place as the wax cools. Wash your pot with hot water and soap. Allow to cool overnight. Cut the wick to the desired height. Easy! Note: you can easily make beeswax candles too. But make sure that you add 1/2 cup coconut oil for every 500g of wax to help soften and prevent cracking.
