Juniper is a strong aromatic (scented) herb from a tree. It is not a fruit but a type of bitter/citrus tasting spice. They have a wonderful peppery taste, a bit like rosemary with lemon overtones. It is most commonly used in preserving foods such as fermenting and pickling. It's also widely used in making gin to give it it's distinctive taste. Juniper aids inflammatory disorders and fluid retention and is packed with vitamin C. Store in an airtight container in a cool and dry place.
