Carrot and Turmeric Falafel with Raw Salad

Freshly made moist falafels are a favourite! Best had with a bowl of fresh organic veggies and a dollop of cashew cheese!


Ingredients
  • Falafels
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 1/4 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp Scoops Zaatar spice blend
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Directions

1. Chop 2 carrots in your food processor into little pieces (or grate), add 1 1/4 cups cooked chick peas, 1 tsp ground allspice, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground tumeric, 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tbsp Scoop's zaatar spice blend, 1/2 tsp ground coriander, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, 2 tbsp hemp seeds (optional), 1/4 cup quinoa flakes/teff flakes, 2 cloves garlic, the juice of 1 lemon and a good pinch of salt and pepper. 2. Blend until you have a smooth paste. 3. Shape as you like and roll in quinoa/teff flakes or sesame seeds. 4. Fry gently in coconut oil for about 3 mins on each side until golden. Best served warm.
